GAMBARAN FAKTOR RISIKO PASIEN DM TIPE 2 DI POLIKLINIK PENYAKIT DALAM RSUD ALOEI SABOE

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a non-transmitted disease between individuals, which contributes to at least 70% of global deaths. In 2021, Indonesia ranked fifth globally in the number of DM cases aged 20 to 79 years, after China, India, Pakistan, and the United States. In Gorontalo Province, the prevalence of DM based on medical diagnosis in 2018 reached 1.74%. Risk factors for Diabetes Mellitus (DM) are categorized into modifiable and non-modifiable factors. This study aims to identify modifiable risk factors in Type 2 DM patients at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Prof. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe Hospital, Gorontalo City. The method used is This quantitative research uses a descriptive research design. The study sample involved 87 Type 2 DM patients who were treated during June - August 2024, with an accidental sampling method. The results of the study showed that the majority of the distribution of Type 2 DM risk factors in this study were not obese (53 patients, 60.9%), sufficient physical activity (59 patients, 67.8%), hypertension (49 patients, 56.3%), dyslipidemia (60 patients, 69.0%), poor diet (70 patients, 80.5%), not smoking (63 patients, 72.4%), and not consuming alcohol (87 patients, 100.0%). The conclusion is that there are modifiable risk factors in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Prof. Dr. H. Aloei Saboe Hospital, Gorontalo City, including not being obese, sufficient physical activity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, poor diet, not smoking, and not consuming alcohol. This data is important for managing DM risk in the future.
